What is NDPR?
The Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), issued by NITDA in 2019 and reinforced by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, governs how Nigerian organisations collect, store and process personal data of Nigerian residents.
Lawful Basis for Processing
OCP processes your personal data on the following lawful bases:
- Contract — to deliver education services you have applied for.
- Legal obligation — to report to JAMB, NBTE and other regulators.
- Consent — for any optional communications.
Your Rights Under NDPR
- Right to be informed about how your data is used.
- Right of access to your personal data.
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (where no overriding legal duty exists).
- Right to restrict processing.
- Right to data portability.
- Right to object to processing.
Data Retention
Application data is retained for 7 years after graduation or final rejection, after which it is securely erased.
Breach Notification
In the event of a personal data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and NITDA within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
